Sunny "Hello"

A Sunny "Hello" to all!

A couple of weeks ago, Ann at Georgian Dream ask for some updated photos of the garden. Here is a little tour of what's happening now......

The potato plants are blooming and the onions are getting thicker and taller.

The peas are very prolific. I haven't cooked any yet....I pick them, shell them and eat them right there on the spot:) And the chickens love the empty pods!

This is the first year I have grown lettuce. It has surpassed my wildest dreams!

Wish you guys lived closer, we could have a salad bar luncheon!

The only negative is that it's gotten so hot that my Spinach is bolting....oh, well, I'll try again when it cools down in the Fall.

I found these little miniature petunias, they are called Sunburst. Quite cheery, huh?

I've still got a million and one things to do, but I've missed you guys!!

Pretty flowers. My dh is a real gardener. He loves it. He had great lettuce last year. Our
guinea pig was in heaven...lol

Oh your garden is really looking fantastic! I remember shelling beans and snapping peas with my Grandmother in Arkansas when I was little. It seemed like such a bounty and to have it all right there from plants you have grown is so rewarding! Your lettuce looks so good, I wish I could be there and join you for a salad :)

Hugs,
Dena

Your garden looks great, Rhonda! Of course we understand your absence, especially this time of year. Everything in your garden looks so lush and green and the petunias are a most unusual color...so pretty!

I have always found that problem with peas...they rarely make it into the house because little children find them in the garden and eat them before I can cook them! LOL

Your garden looks gorgeous. Mine is just starting out. I hope to have peas in a couple of weeks. The spinach and lettuce are just getting started, though.

Great job!
Terri
