Little Boy, Big Toy

This past weekend was perfect for getting out of doors and working in the yard. So my Daddy, who spends his retirement days operating a Grading and Hauling Business, came and did a little work for us. He had a very willing and eager little helper~
His Papaw let him operate the Bobcat all by himself~ of course there were four adults standing at the ready just in case assistance was needed.

He pulled every leaver and pushed every button just to get a feel for what it could do.

He took his work very seriously....

He scooped up the dirt... see our red Georgia clay!?

And dumped it in its new location.

It was a job well done. It made such an impression on him, that he even thanked the Lord in his prayers on Saturday night for being able to do it by himself.
And I thanked the Lord that another project was completed:-) ~Rhonda

He's already a working farm boy! How adorable! He really looked like he enjoyed it too. :)

That is SO cute! I know he would kill me for saying he was cute, but he really is! I just love moments like that...and I am so glad that you are preserving that memory with your camera and online journal....

Oh, what fun for him. He must have been so proud of himself and felt like such a big boy. Maybe he'll take over the business from his Papaw when he grows up, but then again he may want to be a bee keeper like his Mom!

Wow! I think it's great that you allow him to try to do some things on his own. He'll grow up to be a very confident and capable young man!

Oh my, what fun for a young boy! I can't think of anything more exciting for a youngster such as yours. What a lucky boy he is to have a Papaw like to teach him such things.

Wow! That is a huge thing for a little kiddle! I remember I was walking on clouds for days when I got to drive a tractor by myself the first time. (except someone pushing the pedals for me, of course :))

Oh, Rhonda...he is growing up so so fast. Don't they seem to have a way of doing that!! Seems I go to sleep at night and my little grands are small, then when I wake up the next morning, they are all grown up! Bwaaaaa...well,actually, it is bittersweet. You don't REALLY want them to stay little forever but you hate to see them growing up so FAST..
Good job, little man !!

Oh he looks like a very busy man! I would've pushed all the buttons too.

I am waiting for my neighbor's Wisterias to bloom...we're a little behind here in WA due to the lack of sunshine. Last year the blackberries were so late the season was too short and I didn't get any, wonder how this year is going to be. I sure have lots of Dandelions though!

Hi - I came across your blog and thought I would say "Hello." I'm a fellow GA blogger (I too live in the N.GA area) with a few chickens of my own.

Love the pictures of your little guy helping out. My dad has heavy equipment and when my boys were his age, helping Papa was their favorite thing.

Take care-Amy

Just discovered your blog. It's great. Your little boy reminds me of my little brother when we were kids....always hopping up on one of Dad's pieces of equipment to help out. It's great that your teaching him great things and how hard work can be so satisfying. I think we have so lost that in today's society. We should to the basics and quit over-complicating life.

PS- You are my kind of woman...I would pick the shotgun over the hoe any day! :-)
