On Sunday evening, my neighbor Lindsey wander over. It seems that while they were away on vacation, some unscrupulous soul, had dumped out 5 kittens in their front yard. And as they unloaded the car, the very hungry little dears were one by one emerging from their Juniper bushes, crying mercilessly and begging to be cared for.The problem is that the kittens are not weened, we figure them to be approximately 3 weeks old, and they could not eat the plate of milk that Lindsey offered them. In fact they were very weak and could not even walk steadily... possibly from their age and the fact that they were very dehydrated.
Now I ask you, WHO could do such a thing to this sweet little face?!!
Lindsey had no clue what to do for the babies and she knew that I had bottle raised Tigger, Lexi and Sadie so she and I struck up an arrangement..... I would care for them if she would find them homes.
I soooo got the best end of this arrangement:-)

Oh, they are adorable and you did get the best end of the deal! What is wrong with people that they do things like that to poor defenseless little creatures?

We just found homes for the last of our litter of 5, and while they were a riot to have around, let me tell you...it is so much more peaceful now that they are gone! We had them all neutered/spayed before they left. Now the new owners won't have to deal with cats in heat or crazy male cats!
Yes, you got the best deal, but then I do love kittens. I will say that that is a pretty incredible commitment you've made! But these kittens should make wonderful pets after all the hands on care.

How wonderful you are to be caring for those little precious ones. They must be a bit of work. I can't imagine anyone doing anything like that. Thats just awful. You don't suppose something happened to their mother....I hope you'll keep posting about them. You did get the better deal...or maybe you just got 3 more little kitties?

Oh Rhonda! You are such a sweetheart to volunteer to care for these sweet felines. Before I vote if you got the better end of the deal, I'm wondering how often you have to feed these little ones. Glad you had a good time on vacation. Reality does have a way of creeping back into one's life, though.

I can't imagine what kind of person does such a thing. Heartless is all I can say. Several years ago someone dumped a mother lab and her seven newborn puppies off at a little country store down the road from us. It was mid summer, extremly hot and these poor newborns were on the hot concrete. The puppies and their mother were in bad shape. I brought them all home, got the pups raised, the mother in good shape and found good homes for all. It was hard work at times but I could never have left them to die. I hope you find good homes for these precious babies! You are a sweetheart to raise them!
There is nothing like baby kittens for smiles and laughter that is non-stop!
Unfortunately there are tons of people who do this sort of thing all the time. It's disgusting.

I can't even imagine how heartless one would have to be to abandon those kittens. It boggles my mind the depths that some people sink to.
I would want to keep them all. I would be one of those cat ladies with a bunch of cats ruling my roost.
Thank you for taking them in. Every living thing deserves someone to go to bat for them, to give them a fighting chance.
