Snowy Smokies

When you live in the South, experiencing snow is pure magic. It puts a grin on your face from ear to ear and makes you giggle like a child. No matter what you have planned, everything is put on hold so that you can go out and simply play in the snow:-)

This was the view from the bedroom window of the cabin yesterday morning ~sorry about the screen markings~ Can you see the top of the mountain covered in snow?!

My little guy made his first snow angel...

Look out Dad!! This one has your name on it.

And just so you know, a snow disk makes for a pretty handy shield when Dad decides to retaliate:-)

Of course, all too soon it was time for us to depart Winter Wonderland and head back to reality.
But the drive home was nothing less than spectacular....

See what I mean~~

I don't know what was colder, us or the water.

This was the view from the top of New Found Gap, looking back across the valley.

Eventhough the temperature outside was quiet frankly beyond FRIGID we had to stop at the top and play for just a few minutes.

The King of Clingman's Dome and his popsicle parents hope you are starting the New Year off playing and making memories with your loved ones:-)

Hey Rhonda,
When our boys were little we went to the Smoky mts. a lot. I miss them. It was nice to see them in you photos. And yes, snow does make us plum gitty down here. The weather man said the S word today...maybe Thursday or Friday there may be snow flake all the way down to middle Ga.!!

Have a safe trip home.

Hi Rhonda!!! Oh I love those mountains! We climbed up Clingman's Dome a couple years ago so I'm able to enjoy the pics even more....we like the leaves when they are golden and red but they sure are pretty white!

PS Love the Winter Wonderland music popping on as I looked at you Winter Wonderland!

Happy New Year, Rhonda! I'm catching up, too. Your photos are amazing, and your boy is growing up! I didn't post photos but we had 20 teens for New Year's. It was really festive! And fun, they were hilarious. Hope to see more of your wonderful blogging!
Fondly, Andrea

Hi Rhonda - looks like a fun time was had by all! Snow is magical here in Texas, too. We rarely get it. Today we're having temps in the teens, but no snow. Not much fun...(whine) Your little boy is getting SO tall!

Hi Rhonda! I soooo missed your blog while you were away, but I certainly understand. I hope you are enjoying your job. I can't wait to see how spring will shape up around your farm. I can't wait to get started with my chickens this spring...I may have some questions for you. Thank you for stopping by my new blog...I look forward to reading your posts.

I am curious to find out what blog system you're using? I'm
having some small security issues with my latest site and
I'd like to find something more secure. Do you have any recommendations?

Hello! Great photos!

I was wondering about Clingmans dome, did you hike it while the road was closed? Or did you find another path that connects to to it? I am traveling down there next week and trying to get as much knowledge as possible since the sign the says closed till March 31!

Thank you very much for your time!
