We often think of candlelight in the evening hours. And of course after a long day, candles go hand in hand with a nice soak in a hot tub full of silky bubbles.
But somewhere I read about a woman who starts her day with a candlelit shower. What a nice idea, I thought. I normally go into the bathroom and flip on the over head light which nearly blinds me after 7 to 8 hours of darkness. So, I decided to give it a try. I tell you now, this will become my new morning routine. 5:30 AM is much too early for the harshness of bright light. My bathroom is small, so all I needed was a few candles burning to illuminate the room well enough for me to see what I was doing. Instead of just taking a shower because that is what you do everyday, I felt more focused and enjoyed the process. I seemed to savor the warmth of the hot water more and my rose scented soap ~handmade by none other than Peggy at Hidden Haven~ smelled and felt even lovelier. I took a little extra time and enjoyed lathering up my long hair and letting the flow of the water wash the suds away. It felt like a spa treatment, but it didn't cost a dime. It was a wonderful way to start off the day. So, maybe tomorrow you might consider waking yourself up in a more kinder and gentler way.
It just might make you whole day feel a bit more special~Rhonda

What a great idea to start the day! I also love your little ducks! So cute. Blessings,Kathleen
I had to do this by necessity one time when all the electricity was off and I had to get to work. It was wonderful! Think I'll try it again!
Such a simple idea with such exquisite results. I just may have to give it a try. You may have started a trend, Rhonda!
Such a wonderful idea! I am so bad at actually putting my candles to use! This would do it!
LOVELY MONDAY TO YOU...
XOXO

I've done this before...think I'll pick up the habit again....as a matter of fact I'm starting now...not with a shower, but lighting a candle...it settles me down
Well now, you do make it sound wonderful!
Sounds like some wonderful special ME time!
This does sound wonderfully loveleigh. Like pure peace. My only suggestion would be to make sure the leg shaving process take place in full light. Those little razor nicks can sting like crazy!
Thanks so much. You have been one of the true friends that stood by me.
Love you,Brenda
What a great idea! Peaceful I love the ducks!! They are soo sweet.
you get up at 5:30 am?? Amazing.
I want you to blog on what your typical day is like, starting at 5:30. I think that would be very interesting..
Now that sounds like a wonderful idea! I love to ease into the day.
I love to light candles in the morning, too! Especially when I'm at my desk and it's still dark out, and everyone is still asleep. A peaceful, calming way to start the day, before it gets too crazy... and I'm so glad to hear that your little darling is OK! He's adorable, just precious. xo, Andrea
That sounds divine. I won't be doing it at 5.30am but I will try at some time during the morning. Our bathroom is a huge room so it might not be cosy enough but I have got some candles!
Thanks for the thought.
