A Good Day

Yesterday was one of those days that the rhythm and flow just seemed right. I awoke to rain....which continued for most of the morning. Since it was too wet to venture out other than to feed animals, I turned my attention to some sewing projects. I embroidered some bibs for my sister-in-law who is expecting her first baby in the next couple of weeks. I can't show pictures of them though, they are supposed to be a secret so shhhhhhh.

My son was engrossed in new creations....stringing wires all over the family room, painting , making fruit salad....

Of course not everyone in the house was feeling productive. Tigger took advantage of the unmade bed.

All in all, it was a good day.

Today we are going to the annual "Turning and Burning" a local festival that celebrates the tradition of handmade pottery.

They have areas where children can make a piece of pottery to keep. My son is looking forward to this.

Well I guess I better get up and get going.
Hope you enjoy your Saturday.

It does sound fun!

And I love days where my son is engrossed in creative endeavors like tying string from every doorknob in the house or making things out of found objects.

xo,
Melissa

Thats my excuse sometimes for not making a bed...LOL...the kitties look so cute ...funny how they hop right up there in the warm spot and are completely passed out by the time you come back to make the bed.....
Blessings for a great weekend!

Aren't all the Fall activities the best?! Several of my family memebers live out in the country on the river. In October they used to put together a Fall Festival that was just amazing. Everybody brought a pot of chili and it all got dumped together into one pot. It was the most incredible chili! They had games for the kids, pumpkin carving contests... Oh, I miss the Oakey Fall Festival so much!! Blessings... Polly

Your kitty looks so comfy...don't they find the best spots?! The festival sounds like great fun. Can't wait to see what kind of pottery you son gets to make. Be sure to share with us, please.

Me again!! I will definitely try the grits the way you mentioned! So sounds like you taught the year younger than I do at the moment-they can be stinkers lol, but I like them too!xx

Your day did sound wonderful. I hope the weekend followed suit. I raise chickens too. OK, its only two hens but I've got more brown eggs than my family of four can eat. They're so calming, the low pitch clucking--and you just can't beat them as the perfect design accessory.
