Go with what you love!

I take a class on Monday nights. I am adding a Gifted Education Endorsement to my teaching certificate. So that next year when I return to work, I may be able to teach in an area that is near and dear to my heart. As I was getting dressed to go, I spied my row of straw hats that are piled on top of my armoire. I love hats, especially straw hats but I almost never wear them. As I stood there looking at them, I ask myself why? The answer, I am afraid people will look at me funny! What a silly reason. To let something so frivolous as public opinion, to inhibit my self expression.
I chose one that my sisters and I had picked up in Myrtle Beach this summer, we all bought the same farmgirl style hat (that's it in the top picture) and wore them to dinner one night. I am sure we were a sight to see, but we were on vacation and we didn't care:-) So I put it on my head and off I went. Yes, some people did look at me like I was a bit peculiar. Hmmm...maybe they are right and I'm OK with that.

Oooh, love those hats! I know what you mean, though, about wearing them. I always feel like an idiot if I try to wear anything other than a baseball cap. I wonder what it was like to live in a time when women wore beautiful hats every day!

I feel the same way about hats and not wearing them. But you're right! Who cares what John Q. Public thinks of my style?

Love Frank by the way!

I wear baseball caps all the time, when I am playing tennis, or golfing. I have VERY thin hair and that is how I protect my scalp. I would love to wear all kinds of hats, but with my thin hair, they all are too big and kind of sit on my ears - lol. Now that would get people talking~

I be you looked adorable in your hat!

I was just reading this a.m. on another blog (sorry, I remember who it was) as a woman said she took off in the car wearing her nightgown. And she did it on purpose. I love that "do something silly" attitude! I say, wear the hat, wear the shoes, wear the silly thing if it makes you smile! Blessings... Polly
